Who is Diamond Pros
Lou Santos
Founder
Lou Santos, has been a big name in the sports world for over 50 years. Hailing from New York City, Coach Lou believes that sports are about more than just winning—they're about growing as a person, building friendships, and giving back to the community. His coaching achievements are legendary, including titles such as the winningest baseball coach in Queensborough's history and leading Molloy’s JV softball team to multiple championships. In November 2019, Lou Santos was inducted into the NY State Baseball Hall of Fame, where he was celebrated for his unwavering love and dedication to the game. Coach Lou's legacy extends far beyond wins and losses, as he has touched the lives of countless athletes and instilled enduring values in generations of players. He epitomizes the spirit of sportsmanship and leadership, leaving an indelible mark on the athletic landscape of New York City and beyond.
Besides coaching in NYC, Coach Lou has broadened his experiences by playing in different locations like Italy, China, Australia, and Puerto Rico, where he's a regular visitor. This year marks the 8th annual Puerto Rico Friendly Games, a testament to Coach Lou's ongoing commitment to promoting international sports exchange and community engagement.

Coordinator
Gianna Petraglia
Meet Gianna, Coordinator and a Diamond Pros alumna. Gianna's journey with Diamond Pros began on the softball field under Lou's mentorship, shaping her as both a player and a person. She progressed from youth sports through Archbishop Molloy High School, representing both JV and varsity teams. After high school, Gianna pursued her undergraduate and MBA at St. John's University while also serving as a graduate assistant. Remaining integral to Diamond Pros, she worked closely with Lou in the office, ensuring smooth operations behind the scenes. Gianna's dedication to Diamond Pros shines through her involvement since 2012, including playing for the organization, participating in the 2016 friendly series in Puerto Rico, and leading initiatives post-COVID-19. Her dedication embodies our tradition of excellence and passion for developing young athletes.

Nick Petraglia
Meet Nick, the Director of Overall Operations. As a dedicated father of two, Nick's journey in youth sports started with his children, who both embraced baseball and softball. Nick's involvement extended beyond mere support; he coached his daughter's softball team, which notably participated in the 2016 friendly series. During the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, Nick played a crucial role in reviving the program, showcasing his commitment to the sport and the community. His passion, dedication, and profound understanding of youth sports' nuances have left a lasting impact, shaping young athletes not just as players but as individuals prepared for challenges both on and off the field. Nick's contributions continue to inspire and elevate the youth sports experience for all involved.
Director of Operations - Softball
Eddie Cordero
Meet Eddie, the Director of Operations for Softball with the Diamond Pros Puerto Rico Friendly Series. He has been coaching youth sports since 1993, bringing over 30 years of experience and dedication to the field. In his current role, he helps lead competitive and developmental opportunities for young athletes from different regions. Eddie also serves as the Parish Athletic Representative for the Queen of Peace Athletic Association, supporting faith-based athletic programs and promoting positive values through sports. Known for his commitment and leadership, he has coached countless players—including his own daughters—instilling teamwork, discipline, and a love for the game. Whether on the field or behind the scenes, Eddie continues to make a lasting impact in the lives of young athletes and their families through his guidance and passion for the game.
On-site Coordinator
Orlando Encarnacion Jr.
Meet Orlando Encarnacion, the onsite coordinator for baseball and softball in Puerto Rico. A former baseball player from Luquillo, Puerto Rico, Orlando brings his passion for the game and experience as a college athlete to his role. Currently a starting catcher for Prairie State College in Chicago, where he's hitting .308 this season, Orlando is dedicated to both his personal development as a player and supporting youth in their baseball and softball journeys. Baseball has always been a significant part of Orlando's life, and he aims not only to excel personally but also to guide young players in the right direction. Looking ahead, Orlando envisions continuing his work with kids, particularly through organizations like Diamond Pro, as he believes in nurturing the next generation of athletes.
